My understanding is that the zone handles lots of the core functions of AWS, such as authentication, which is why so much was affected by the recent outage
I am sure i dealed with services that used AWS, heck i even checked what services were in USA down because of AWS and they worked, so idk what to think about it

One of the most important functions is that it is the fallback management server. As well as the default server.
Then why i didn’t had any problems here in europe? I wouldn’t have noticed without everyone shouting it
Im in Europe (Germany) and i definitely noticed both the huge AWS outage that was not long ago and today’s Cloudflare drop….
I am in Italy and CloudFlare hit me too
Maybe you just weren’t dealing with any services that were hosted on AWS? It wasn’t the entire internet that was down
