Several major EU donors, including France’s President Emmanuel Macron, also did not attend, but von der Leyen’s no show is a surprise as she is understood to already be in Johannesburg for the G20 summit.

I would assume the announcement of the Russian-American surrender plan for Ukraine has something to do with it.
