That’s an autism thing? Doesn’t anyone hate having something poke or scratch your neck the whole time?
Everyone pees. But it’s not normal if you have to pee 20 times a day.
This is what I tell every person who believes that people are pathologizing normal behavior into autism. If it doesn’t significantly impact your life, if it’s only one or two traits, then it’s not autism.
I had meltdown episodes as a child when anyone attempted to dress me in anything that had a seam that could be felt, edges of Velcro, clothing tags, untucked shirts and the sensory nightmares of cold buttons on my pants, dresses without shorts under, etc.
As an adult, I still can’t wear normal bras, clothing that isn’t soft, most jeans which have stiff seams on the waist, and so many materials that itch the hell out of me.
To this day, I have had friends treat me like a brainwashed social media nut for even suggesting that I may have autism. All while I’m going to the movie theater with non-polarized shades and ear plugs.
Right, I subconsciously rip off all my tags and even try to buy things without them… I always figured they were meant to be removed because they are so annoying.
A lot of them are, and are sewn in in such a way that you can often neatly use a seam ripper to take just them off.
I think it’s a matter of degree. If the tag is sharp/stiff/crumpled enough to actually redden or mark your skin or is especially itchy, most people will notice and be bothered. If it’s one of those flat, soft, shiny tags lying correctly, most people don’t notice them.
I don’t always remove mine because that sometimes makes it worse, but I wear my undershirts inside out, which sidesteps the problem. For shirts I wear without undershirts, I’m okay with most of the soft tags at the neck most of the time, but care instructions are sometimes sewn into the side and that drives me fucking nuts.
My grandmother used to knit these turtleneck sweaters.
It’s just not noticeable to me. If I think about it, I suppose I can feel it a little bit when I turn my head. But I don’t think about it.
Well I don’t have it with all tags but I will definitely remove it if it’s itchy.
Uhhh….
Hasn’t this practice been banned by the Geneva Convention?
If you’re extra bad, half of it gets dipped in water first.
I’d rather wear a spike collar turned inside out than wearing that abomination
I think there’s a community for that.
This was definitely used as psychological torture somewhere in the world
It needs a tuned jingle bell directly underneath one ear… And then a different slightly off-key jingle bell slightly behind the other ear.
Perfect sub punishment
god i wish that was me
