So there are quite a few domains I would not like to see in my main feed. Mainly because I am not interested at all or do not speak the language. What I have tried is the following; going to the domain, for example feddit.de:

https://kbin.social/d/feddit.de

And then activate the block button which should block the whole domain feddit.de, right? But that does not work at all unfortunately and I still get posts from that domain in my feed. This is especially infuriating with all the furry stuff I REALLY do not want to see. So is this a technicality still, or am I doing it wrong? Any ideas or solutions?

Blocking the feddit.de domain does nothing for me. I get daily new stuff from there on my feed. Blocking the individual magazines does help, but it’s now just become a part of my daily routine to block them.

Same here, blocked that same domain a day or two ago and still see posts. Also noticed the same that blocking the individual magazines work, but that’s obviously less than ideal.

I think the block works. Your feed is probably cached. Try logging in later on in the day and seeing if you see any new posts from there. You probably won’t.

I’ve blocked the domains in question days ago and still see new posts, from all of them. So something seems broken…

I’m pretty sure that would just block links to that domain, not posts to magazines/communities on that domain - same as reddit.

However, since “articles” get created on the instance’s domain with Lemmy and Kbin, I think it would have the effect of blocking articles, but not links.

That I did, too. But it will inevitably lead to a humongous block list. I would rather keep it simple…

Until there’s a whitelist for the block button, that’s what I’m stuck with. What very few English subs are there, I would still be interested in reading :(

Can confirm the domain block doesn’t work for me, I’m seeing way too much yiff in my feed.

Yeah, I went in and blocked every furry magazine I could find (along with many celeb ones). I think NSFW images should only come up for magazines you are subscribed to, or maybe there could be a setting to opt in to it. It was a bit overwhelming at first for the amount of furry and straight porn I had to sift through to get to articles. I want to contribute to the project at some point. Maybe I can put my keyboard where my mouth is when I find time.

This is odd. I did exactly what you describe to several instances and get no content from them. For feddit.de i blocked individual magazines because they have some English language ones that I want to see.

Super odd. I have some 3-4 domains blocked atm, one of them grossly prolific with an emphasis on gross, and I’ve never seen anything from them since. Otherwise, I would have caught on, mentioned it’s broken, and stopped bothering

Experienced the same thing. Blocked feddit.de but still saw multiple posts in the All feed.

Blocking individual magazines works, and it’s taken me a few days before my feed is cleaned up as expected.

And feddit is showing up in your blocked domains section in settings now? I haven’t been blocking many domains, but I’ve had no problems with people and magazines going away.
