One time my 50lb dog ate an entire rotisserie chicken from the trash at a friends house. Like they literally bought one and threw it away without touching it and he at it 100% bones and all. It looked like he was pregnant. We thought it was going to cost so much money but while the vet was examining him he had the most impressive amount of vomit I’ve ever seen in my life relative to body size (and I’ve worked in hospitals). They examined him a bit more and said he was probably fine and sent us home. Cost $120. He’s still going strong 6+ years later so they were right.

I still have a picture of his belly from that day because it’s wild how bloated he was

I asked my vet what the weirdest animal name they’ve seen is but all they could remember is a cat named Pancakes (and my dog named Ducky).

But I did see a dog named Linda on the shelter’s website.

I had a golden retriever as a kid. He once are a whole pot roast then slept for like 12 hours. He also ate a neighbor’s chicken once. Took him 3 days to cough up the ribcage. I think it almost killed him, and I have no doubt he would have done it again given the opportunity.

I slept with my first dog all night because he ate half a bag of Hershey kisses with the foil still on a bunch (making thumbprint cookies or whatever they are called). Turns out the foil didn’t bother him and there’s so little actual chocolate in kisses that he just had the shits for 3 days. I cried for hours.

My bro-in-law lived with us before college. His husky has a thing where she wants to smell everything humans are about to eat but would never try to steal it.

She got one of the neighbor’s chickens when it wandered into our backyard. Ever since then, chicken is the only food she will try to steal.

If she doesn’t get to “smell-taste” she does all that typical husky drama.
