From what I’ve gathered, they don’t have any of the same hosts. Are they somehow related podcasts? Do they endorse eachother? Just wondering.
I tried looking it up before I bothered you dope-ass bears about it but all I found was this hilarious Reddit link to the great minds at r/neoliberalism.

from my recollection of the story:
Hexbear, way back in the day many a year ago, started as r/chapotraphouse, a subreddit dedicated to the podcast of the same name that eventually turned into the left wing internet community with only a tangential relation to said podcast that we have today. Over time, the general consensus on Hexbear about chapotraphouse was that it wasn’t as good as it used to be and interest in the podcast largely fell off, at the same time that Citations needed starting gaining popularity on the internet more broadly and on hexbear. After a while, more people were talking about citations needed than chapotraphouse on Hexbear, and that observation turned into a sort of in joke. We all know that originally we were chapo fans but we talk so much more about citations needed now that fuck it, we’re the official citations needed fan club website now
Some corrections:
The timeline is /r/chapotraphouse, chapo.chat, hexbear.net. You confusingly refer to hexbear throughout as though it always existed.
CN was popular about the same time as Chapo Trap House and was ironically made the official podcast of the subreddit almost immediately.
The meme of CN>CTH predates the dope-ass bear meme.

like another poster said, the r/chapotraphouse sub kinda divested from CTH the podcast early on. Citations Needed is a banger ass podcast and was referenced often, usually because some issue would pop up and CN already had a full hour long episode discussing how the media fucked up, so you could just link the episode and move along.

Citation Needed is a british panel show made by the (comedy) group Technical Difficulties. you can find most of the episodes on Tom Scott’s channel. no other thing named citation needed exists trust me don’t look it up.
