I find the “millennial slop”/“we don’t need a remake yet” arguments kinda weird. It’s not a remake of the films for a start, it’s a different medium which hasn’t been used before, but even if it was it’s actually quite normal for incredibly popular pieces of literature to receive multiple adaptations across decades. A lot of the complaining sounds like millennials not coping well with the reality of their aging and the fact that they’re now seeing newer adaptations of the things they grew up with.
