Watching the way drones have been used in Ukraine has been fascinating, it’s my belief that expendable unmanned drones of all sizes will play a crucial role in future conflicts, both as observation platforms and as munitions.

Ukraine has sunk or damaged a number of warships with their drone boats, and the Bayraktar played a key role in the sinking of the Moskva. They also damaged a number of aircraft far behind enemy lines with Australian made cardboard drones.

We should have a plan on how to use this technology, but even more important is that we have a plan to counter it should it be used against us.

As long as your govs goal is defence, you can’t really go too far in an arms race. Your end goal is to make attacking you as unpalatable as possible. How those weapons get used if your gov becomes the aggressor is a lot more problematic :/

We are watching you kiwis from across the Tasman, waiting for your moment of weakness /s :D
