That’s Peter “Columbo” Falk playing totally not Fidel in the worst Twilight Zone episode (until the revival lmao)

You see, my wife, she’s a big historical materialism fan. She loves that guy… aw geez, what was his name again? Lenin? Anyway, she was telling me without a revolutionary theory there can be no revolutionary movement. Isn’t that something?
Anyway, I just thought I’d mention it cause you have a lot of books about this stuff. It’s funny to me, though, they all look brand new.

I’ve wondered how much of this episode was cold war brainworms and how much was “need to crank out scripts + topical for the time event + general nihilism + compulsory twist”.
For a while I had assumed Rod Serling was cool because I erroneously thought he was the blacklisted writer behind Planet of the Apes but this episode slapped me right out of it.

how are you all so good at columbo-posting I genuinely had no idea where this was going until the end

Loving the Columbo Trap House era/arc.
Fun ep. With Bad politics.
To be fair, the amount Hitler Particles emitted from it is indistinguishable from background levels in the US
extremely bad politics, not even trying to hide it as portraying the Cuban Revolution and Castro in a very negative light. Another episode that was obvious cold war propaganda was the episode “On Thursday We Leave for Home” , basically glorious Capitalist Individualism vs evil Soviet Collectivism.
is it the one with the mirror, i think ive listened to the radio play version
Yes. It’s called “The Mirror”.
You are entering the vicinity of an area adjacent to a location. The kind of place where there might be a monster, or some kind of weird mirror. Prepare to enter The Scary Door
