    AI is incredibly powerful technology. Still, some appear to be racing forward, seemingly pursuing AI for the sake of AI, without clear regard to the people, all of us, that it’s ultimately meant to serve.

    Oh, Apple is a laggard on AI because they care so much about users?

    Except I was there when the iPhone 15 launched with Apple Intelligence. I remember Apple throwing me a stupid rainbow animated effect while it struggled to open a ChatGPT session to hand off my question it didn’t understand. I was there, standing bored for 15 seconds while it attempted to “do AI”.

    Apple tried AI almost 3 years ago. They just did a shit job.

    They’re not carefully innovating. They are slow and late and have a pathetic grasp of what their users actually want.
