Depends, is it blocking the sidewalk? As in, a wheelchair can’t get past? In that case call the police and report a truck being on fire.
Otherwise? Probably nothing. There are legit reasons why you’d want to keep the trailer hitched and backed that far in.
You can literally see it blocking the sidewalk my dude.
In which case I’ll refer you to the latter half of my first paragraph.
If a truck is parked on the sidewalk, it’s blocking the sidewalk to where a wheelchair can’t past.
The post is “what would you do in this situation” and in this situation the truck is completely blocking everything because truck drivers are 99% self-important dickbags who think the world should accommodate them.
The reasons are that your an inconsiderate twat and the world is made for your convenience, neither is exclusive

First off, are you sure that you meant to reply to this comment? I’m having a hard time following along.
Secondly, no matter what you’re replying to, that’s awfully aggressive, don’t you think?
I was responding to you, but the phrasing was criminally trash. I was not actually referring to YOU as a twat. I mean the guy who thinks it’s reasonable to park on the sidewalk because it’s inconvenient to chalk and unhitch his trailer.
The aggression is seated in lovely interactions with the above mentioned twats that are no dbout influencing my mood today especially
Tldr: it was not my intention to attack you
Me? I’d mind my own fuckin business.
dude, moving is hell. literally it’s one of the most stressful things humans do. I fucking hate moving. The last thing you need is some karen screaming about a temporary blocked patch of sidewalk when you’re literally unloading the truck.
edit: I’d add - perhaps going over and saying “hey let me help you unload this trailer so we can get the truck off the sidewalk faster!” would be a much better option than damn near anything else, it’s a great way to meet and welcome your new neighbors.
let them get established before you pick out the reasons to hate them.
Telling that it’s perfectly ok to block the sidewalk but if they parked along the curb that’s just too much to ask. Like, I can literally see a space to park that’s EASIER than having to back that shit in right in front, and there are at least two lanes in one direction there so it’s no problem.
“Wahh wahh stop being mad at me I’m too much of a fucking baby to walk the extra 6ft! The trailer needs to be directly stuck to my front door or I’m gunna diiiiiiieeee” give me a fucking break.
Yesterday I helped my friends unload their U-Haul. They ended up parked in the Canadian Tire Parking lot across the four lane road and we just dealt with it, it was fine.
In my friend group they jokingly call me “moving daddy” because in a little over a year I helped about 10-12 moves by showing up and fully directing them. Moving really isn’t that hard and I never had to put a vehicle somewhere that fucked with pedestrians or even drivers despite living in a large city.
rofls you just made this up? no where do I justify their parking because it’s not on the curb. trailer is nowhere near an entrance.
I don’t understand why you’re inventing things to hate here.
Glad someone else helps their friends move.
“…without some Karen….”.
I know reading comprehension is really bad these days but your entire comment is trying to say “no this is fine, stop complaining”. Yes, it’s temporary, but literally they could have just parked on the road. Would have been a million times easier and not as annoying/selfish.
And if there’s entrance door behind or near the trailer I’d be mighty goddamn surprised, and it would actually make it worse.
The dude is unloading stuff. It’s one of those cases where the guy may not be insensitive, but simply trying his best and there’s no other choice.
When I had trees felled on my property, a big truck came to pick up the branches and blocked the street for an hour because there was no other choice. I apologized to the neighbors who had to go around.
If the guy leaves immediately after unloading his trailer, or puts the trailer brakes on, unhitches and goes park someplace else, I’d say let it slide. If he stays there overnight, call the cops. You just can’t tell what’s going on in a still photo.
Park on the street?
He’s still attached to the trailer. It’s not a huge trailer. By the time he unhooks it and re-hooks it, he could be done unloading. At least he’s courteous enough not to park perpendicularly across the road. It looks like he’s being as courteous as possible. Probably because he knows Karen is taking a photo right now to post on Lemmy.
I mean, you can park the trailer on the street as well and walk approximately 10 steps more to load it
The sign explicitly says no stopping 9am-6pm
Dude is trying his best
True, but I don’t know the whole situation. Are they using a ramp/dolly to load something bulky into the building? Are they worried about Inconveniencing other cars so they parked on the sidewalk instead? We just don’t know.
Wanting to not inconvenience cars and instead inconveniencing pedestrians by blocking the sidewalk is definitely a certified piece of shit-move
So your plan is for him to block both the sidewalk AND the street?
Just the street
Drill a hole in the cab and shit into it!
Seriously though, probably just walk around it?
just walk around it
And someone with a mobility aid that can’t go up and down the curb?
Get hit by a car after you fall out of your wheelchair trying to get around the truck?
Ah shit…
Cross the street and use the sidewalk on the other side. He’s probably only there for an hour or two.
I used to be a mover, and there are definitely ways he could have done that better.
I see your truck and give you another example…

You definitely shouldn’t accidentally spill saltwater on it, the higher the salinity the better, that will be a bad idea
You also definitely shouldn’t put bird seed on it either
