From Michael Bianchino

There once was a powerful owl named Pewter,
Whose hunting skills couldn’t be cuter.
While his mate warmed the eggs,
He stretched out his legs,
And bathed in the creek like a commuter.

Pewter the Powerful Owl is spending the day roosting outside his partner’s nesting hollow, keeping a watchful eye while she incubates their eggs. After enjoying a refreshing wash in the Creek, his feathers are still a little damp, giving him a slightly ruffled appearance as he settles in for his daytime vigil 🤫

They do put the “owl” in “powlerful”! They get their name from their ability to take prey larger than any other owl. Most birds of prey are limited to carrying off species around 30-50% of their body weight, but the Powerful Owls regularly take species 50-100% of their own weight, sometimes even a bit higher.
