I’m totally gonna bring this thing inside my house and leave it unattended for the night.
The way you know it’s a myth is they didn’t just light it on fire like every huge group of dudes would have wanted to do. “They left us a huge wooden horse.” “Cool, let’s burn it” is how 100% of these interactions would go
At least shoot a fuck ton of arrows at it, right?
western culture is a celebration of perfidy

You should bring it to the forum so everyone can see your cool victory horse.
Wood floats, right? Float it home. Ride it, even.
Yo someone get that idiot Cassandra, we gotta rub her face in this shit
Odysseus isn’t clever at all he’s just a dipshit. Bring that horse in I’m gonna take funny selfies next to it all night!
I think a fun aspect of the trojan horse thing is that it doesn’t happen in the illiad. It also doesnt happen in the Odyssey.
In the Odyssey Odysseus is telling stories and one of the stories he tells is that of the trojan horse.Odysseus is either fibbing or its a retcon.
I’ve always wondered about the size of this wooden horse (how many soldiers does it have?) and the size of the city they killed people at. the logistics seem questionable.
They hid a contingent of soldiers in the horse who snuck out in the middle of the night and opened the gates for the rest of their army, they didn’t fit a whole army in there.
