Sorry in advance if I’m missing something completely obvious, or if there’s already multiple posts that I missed in search.

Just signed up for PeerTube (yay), on let’s call it Instance A.

Found a cool channel on Instance B, clicked “Remote Interact” via the comment prompt, saw the same video reappear within the Instance A environment, was able to like, comment, subscribe. All the comments on the video, and videos on the channel were shown, and videos are now showing in my subscriptions.

Found another cool channel, this time on Instance C. Clicked “Remote Interact” again, video reappears in Instance A again, and I can like, comment, subscribe. However the original comments aren’t showing, only the video I just opened is visible on the channel page, and new videos aren’t showing in subscriptions.

Am I doing something wrong? Or is this a setting or something on the side of Instances/Channels? Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for any answers :)

Sounds like instance C might have federation turned off. I know there’s a server setting for that, anyhow.

Thanks! Is that setting publicly visible? Instance C does have plenty Subscriptions and Followers listed under Network, so they’re not completely cut off. (Instance A is not among them, however Instance A is also not subscribed to/followed by Instance B.) Also just tried subscribing to another channel form Instance C, and initially the same happened (comments not showing), but now that channel’s videos are showing in my subscriptions, and when I open the video from my subscriptions I can also see all comments. Sooo… a channel setting, maybe? But then why did the comments initially disappear again…

Ok, I tried re-opening the first channel from Instance C again Remotely. In the Remote Interact prompt from clicking on comment I got a page “Cannot access to the remote resource”. The Remote Interact prompt from Subscribe did work and it opened the page. But again, only the video I had previously watched showed up. Then I refreshed the page, and now it showed more (but not all) videos. Refreshed again and now it’s showing all videos. (And now they’re also showing in my subscriptions.) Edit: The Playlists of the channel still aren’t showing up, even after a refresh of the Playlists page though. So… refresh page to load more things? (But… why?)
