So my username on reddit was u/IAmUser1234567 I had 17k+ Karma, i didn’t do anything they just banned my account. Now i guess they have created a digital fingerprint or marked my ip address, because if i create a new account it gets banned almost instantly.

I am loving lemmy(using Voyager on my android phone) so much. Reddit anyways now just contains shity cringe content, it is becoming like insta, I am happy to join lemmy family :)

I got at least 3 dozen IP bans, they are movre clever now than before. My guess is they are using Pixel or similar because changing IP doesn’t work on my main OS account like it used to. They nuked 5 long standing accounts in an hour.

So I made an alternate log in account on the same PC and I’m in. Still VPN’ing. My concern is Windows being Windows will start linking/fingerprinting on all local accounts into one.

I will say the last round was my last, the account I made is for the few small hobby subs I was part of to keep tabs on once a week or so…

There’s that and they can fingerprint by the monitor size too. Combining that with the headers your browser sends helps a lot. It’s easier on mobile though because everybody has more different kinds of display sizes

Probably not from that alone but by referencing it to the subs you visit, yeah that one would be a little less common. 👍
