Yes, there are widely different opinions in the Cuban-American community in the US. The encouraging thing is that anti-blockade Cubans are speaking up more now.
Ok but do you have proof the member of this particular org voted for republicans? Also dem leadership also support the blockade
They’re pointing out that this is like having a group called Far-Right Evangelical Christians for Abortion.
Sure, there is a very small percentage of that demographic who are pro-choice, but the vast majority are not.
The Cuban diaspora in America is overwhelmingly right-wing, religiously anti-communist, and incredibly toxic to American politics.
So good on this group for speaking out, but it’s fair to acknowledge that, by and large, that is not how Cubans in America feel, and definitely not representative of how their outsized political power is generally expressed.

This deserves emphasis. The Cuban people have shown remarkable resilience in the face of economic sanctions first started by president John F Kennedy in fucking 1962. While Republicans are the face of white nationalist fascism, let’s not forget how establishment Democrats, continuing to support the status quo, lead us to this point in history.
The same could be said about ICE, Guantanamo Bay, mass government surveillance, police militarization, the Pentagon budget, support for Israel, and the list goes on.
