    Bookish.

I love Polly Walker so I gave it a try. Only on episode 3, but as someone who isn’t traditionally a fan of murder mysteries, I’m really enjoying it.

I posted this in casual conversations, but I just finished the newest season of X-Men '97 since I wait until all episodes are available. Very impressed with the storyline, the animation, the character variety and plot evolution this season were excellent. Worth a watch if you know the backstory and like comic book animation shows.

Been watching s03 of silo. The 1st half of the season almost lost me a few times due to boredom (extended flashbacks that feel mostly unnecessary and a partial reset to the status quo), but the back half is much better.

Ted lasso S04, while I felt it took a couple of episodes for Jason to feel like he was Ted again and not just acting like it (which may be intentional as part of the setup) I have been enjoying it right out of the gate.

The Ark s03, decent sci fi syfy show. Cheesy, but for the most part the right sort of cheesy. There’s a few characters that are written badly/poorly though. The two token “genius good looking teens” can get annoying real fast. And Dr. Kabir is written so poorly for a fairly prominent character - they don’t give her anything to work with, even when they are spending time developing her character.

The walking dead - dead city, Jeffery Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan are pretty much the only reason to watch this (with some exceptions - The Croat played by Zeljko Ivanek is a fun bad guy and this season we get Jimmi Simpson) other than that it’s the same old soap opera-y poorly thought out drek.

There’s also two anime I’d like to shout out:

Though I am an inept Villainess and Dara-san of Reiwa.

Dara-san starts out like it’s gonna be a fan-service anime, but quickly turns into a fun comedy about an evil mountain god who isn’t so evil. I’m glad I gave it a shot.

Inept Villainess is a really entertaining body swap fantasy very reminiscent of Apothecary Diaries (another excellent anime).

Finally got around to watching “Awake” — a one season series starring Jason Isaacs that aired a few years ago. I can see why it was canceled.

It’s a brilliant concept with a good cast, but after the first two strong episodes, the writing goes off a cliff. What a waste. There was a particularly bad storyline where the main character’s son is just about killed by his police partner. But everyone acts like everything’s hunky dory by the end of the episode and they continue working together like nothing ever happened.

I remember that show. I also really liked the concept, but lost interest a few episodes in. Can’t exactly remember why. Someone should definitely try improving upon that story idea.

I started yesterday a french canadian series called Empathie and I couldn’t stop watching it. It tackles very difficult topics, but with such thoughtful humor and consideration in general, that it didn’t feel heavy to me, just fully human (or something like that).

I highly recommend it, even tho haven’t finished it yet. That is because the way it’s going, I cannot imagine it not having a thoughtful closure of the season.

I have been wanting to revisit Scavengers Reign. I highly recommend watching this. It is some underrated sci-fi.

Good show. I feel like I just watched it, I think it was last winter. But, I’m running out of stuff to watch, so maybe a rewatch is in order.

My partner and I have been watching Ride or Die. It’s bee. Pretty entertaining. There’s been a few moments where the writing is pretty bad, but on the whole it’s pretty good.

The Gilded Age. I’ve always had a soft spot for a good period drama, and the costumes are just fantastic. It’s a fun look into 1880s NYC high society. I mean, if that’s your cup of tea.

The production values and the acting are great, but turning robber barons into protagonists makes me very uncomfortable.
