This feels way older than 10 years, ‘I am very intelligent’ feels like it’s always been around.
Maybe Bors remembered some “I am very intelligent” comment he read at Reddit and years later it came to him when he was making the cartoon. The phrase used unironically has a very Reddit vibe to me.

At least BBM was actually encrypted from what I know. I didn’t trust Google or Apple to properly encrypt RCS chats
Edit: Upon further reading, the chats were encrypted, but not E2E, so at any point BlackBerry could access your messages. Still better than most alternatives at the time I guess…
