This started happening on 2.49.1, iOS 26.7. The feed will intermittently reload while scrolling.

Edit for clarification: as @aeronmelon@lemmy.world pointed out, this isn’t a crash and reload, more of a bounce back to the top.

This is different from a crash & reload, in which you see the app rebuilding itself and reloading the feed.

Without warning, you get instantaneously snapped back to the very top of the feed, even if there is no new content.

This is it exactly, thank you for the clarification. Something similar is also happening in comments, though it doesn’t bounce back to the top, just up a bit. After a few attempts scrolling seems to return to normal.

Yea this makes the app basically unusable. You can scroll about 10 post down and then pops back up to the top.

Definitely not a crash, just reloaded state

I get a warning when this is about to happen to me: the feed moves itself up and down a couple of pixels repeatedly, little a little jiggle. It reminds me of when you are looking at a web page and elements are still loading and they are changing the layout as they load. Usually lasts a couple seconds and then refreshes the feed on its own.

It only happens after I scroll. Is there like a scroll-momentum variable getting set incorrectly or something?

Update: this is now happening without warning, more frequently, and even in comment threads. Something in this current version is very amiss.
