NYP posts this and says it’s wholesome.
Then moments later, will post about the blackouts in Cuba and how people are helping each other and getting massive support from China with the solar panels. They will say that’s evil and why communism is bad.
I work 14 hour days to pay my fucking rent, can I get a quarter mil too?
You’re not tragic enough. We only do aid if you’re a newsworthy case.
If I work for 14 hours with some sad violin music in the background can I qualify?
Could go viral.
In other words, your story matters only if tabloid publications can get more clicks and ad revenue from it. The wonders of capitalism are astounding
I saw an older fella working at a theme park the other day. He was mopping the restroom and struggling to bend all the way down and pick up paper towels thrown on the ground. No one raised any money for him. I met another woman at a different theme park who worked there for a few decades, working hard hoping to get an easier job when she got older. She wound up with a janitorial job while her body is breaking down. And she hasn’t been able to make enough money to be able to retire, so she just has to keep going. These people are everywhere, and nobody helps the vast majority of them.
There was just a story the other day about more and more older people returning to the workforce because pensions and stuff.
The capitalist will never let us stop working…
The saddest part is that quarter mil won’t last long.
It probably fucks up whatever government support he was eligible for too
I read today that GoFundMe suspended his fundraiser.
unreal that socialism would do this to him
