Livestreaming an execution could cause post-traumatic stress disorder in the viewing public, mental health experts have said, after the US confirmed plans to broadcast the death by firing squad of a man who shot dead 13 unarmed soldiers.
Experts said watching the event could result in lasting harms for viewers.
Dr Simon Duff, a forensic psychologist at the University of Nottingham in the UK, said that while there was not a lot of research into the impact of watching an execution, studies examining journalists’ experiences of witnessing violence suggested evidence of trauma response.
“Certainly if people are not resilient they probably shouldn’t [watch], but if they have some underlying psychological driver towards viewing an execution they will likely do so regardless of the potential for harm,” Duff said.
That’s the point. Like a dictatorship Trump wants people to be scared of him and his staff.
He would try normalizing this further and execute Democrats if he believed he could get away with it

Yeah trauma will do that. The only consistent point in their behavior suggests inflicting trauma as cruelly as possible is the top priority of this administration. Even above profit.
Good. Maybe that’ll bring about abolition.
That’s what I’m vaguely hoping — not too hard though. The screen has a distancing effect. But maybe enough of the older generations that didn’t grow up with shock sites will have enough curiosity to watch and be turned off by what our country openly sanctions.

I’m starting to believe that human species is really diverging into two subspecies. One of these can easily watch this.
If you want to watch an execution there are already plenty available to watch on-demand. If you don’t (recommended) then just don’t watch the stream.
