Study believes that confining your calorie intake to several hours before bedtime might help your health
Eating late at night has long been linked with gaining body weight, but scientists now suggest it may directly affect liver health.
New research examining roughly 200,000 people across three studies found late-night dining and snacking was associated with a significantly higher risk of liver disease.
Published in the journal Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, the study revealed that people who eat post-dinner or after going to bed face an increased likelihood of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease, where fat accumulates in the organ, or cirrhosis.
Okay this sounds like one of those correlations where, yeah, people who are way more impulsive about eating and have late night snacks in general make much worse health decisions.
Not that these studies are pointless, because the study itself is probably really honest - but the annoying ass science journalism pisses me off, how they take that and make it sound like eating late is the cause.
Literally this. This just in, eating lots of extra snacks that may not be the healthiest makes you more likely to have a fucked up body! Woooow.
I think humans lack common fucking sense in the diet category, and it makes me lose faith in humanity.

I think people really just don’t have strong introspection. They rarely see themselves as at fault for pretty much anything.
You end up with people who are convinced they’re super healthy but they end up eating way more calories than they realize.
