WASHINGTON, October 23. /TASS/. Donald Trump said he has the right to run for a third term as US president because the 2020 election he lost to Joe Biden was allegedly fraudulent.

“I think I have the right to run again because they cheated. They rigged the election,” he said, addressing a GOP midterm rally in Iowa.

Okay I know logic has no place here, but by that logic you wouldn’t have been able to be president now.

But now you have, one way or another, been officially president two times… so definitely not a third or fourth…

But again, I’d have better luck debating a sack of cats.

At some point, everyone is going to have to learn that the enemy doesn’t care about logic, reason, hypocrisy, morality, ethics, truth, reality or anything else other than naked power for power’s sake.

Screaming “No you’re wrong!” at the screen informing you of their latest offenses to reason might feel good, but what it really means is that you aren’t even playing the same game as them, let alone in the same league. If your best rebuttal is a well reasoned and fully cross referenced argument on why his statements are not true, you should be able to reflect, in hindsight, on how we got to this point and let things get so bad.

None of this is to dump on you. Sorry in advance if it feels this way. Everyone does it, including the best journalists around the world, and the political opposition factions in the US and abroad.

There is a disturbingly large contingent of low information and low reasoning voters who have no use for logic, reason or truth. Hate and fear are powerful tools to manipulate. It overwhelms logic and reason and quickly kills generosity, empathy and compassion. We’ve seen this many times before.

Reason has an important place. Facts matter. Mostly it only benefits the more thoughtful voters. For everyone else, it is just noise geting in the way of the anger outlets.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure the way he sees it is:
Served a term (+1), had a term stolen (-1), served another term (+1), so net terms only =1, therefore he can run again.

Do you think Democrats regret cheating Bernie out of presidency?

Or trying to force Hillary thru cuz she felt like it’s her turn?

Or not pushing the demented guy out instead of forcing the cop lady on people?

They refuse to respect the democratic will of the people as well, no? Do you think they’ve learned anything from their colossal fkups?

Controlled opposition. As long as billionaires and Israel have control of the Democrat party, they will do what their owners say to do. This is why progressives scare the establishment much more than the fascists remaining in power.

It’s still super important to vote, especially in local elections and primaries.

At what point is it okay to blame the billionaires’ lackeys in political parties?

Israel and billionaires tried everything and all of ruling class in Iran didn’t sell their country, mother, heart and soul to them. Anyone who did try got swiftly dealt with by their party and country.

People like Donald, Barack and Hillary gladly sell their daughters to them instead of fighting for us all or the country. Is it okay to blame the party and politicians at some point?

Some anti-genocide people didn’t think they could vote of either party because neither party is anti-genocide. Were they wrong not to vote blue no matter who?

What if the cats decided to get into the sack all by themselves?

That’s actually the worst kind of cats to debate because they will win.

        That’s a vacuous statement though.

Trump occasionally says things that are true, too. So what?

Trumpism and putinism share a characteristic: they are post-truth politics. Truth to them has no value in itself, it is a tool, to be deployed strategically with the right framing to achieve their goals.

Trump is a bumbling, idiotic white supremacist with a big mouth and no self control.

TASS isn’t 1 person but a mouthpiece of a government. Not a fair comparison.

Sure, compare with Fox News then.

But I don’t care to find the perfect comparison, the systems are different enough that one cannot be found. The point about the functional role of truth in their politics stands however.

For the most part, yes. But when it’s reiterating bullshit Trump points no other media is it’s useful.
