That’s correct. Such ceremonies should not be organized by government. If somebody feels the need to do religious/spiritual events, they should be organized privately.
If that is true this is even worse. Its not ok to give religious/spiritual organizatios just government infrastructure for their cultural events. If this was decided by Macron himself instead of parliament then he should be resigned immediately.

Who said the french government organized the ceremony? He just let them use his house as a sign of tolerance in these difficult times
