Looks like the upgrade of lemmy.world finality fixed the statistics. Went from about 800 monthly users yesterday to over 5000 today. Not bad for a small hobby project.

If you mean “considerable” as in barely above minimum wage, sure… it’s either a job or a hobby and if it is a job you need to compare it with what they could earn as software developers elsewhere.
Multiple hundreds is considerable to me and beyond “hobby”. It doesn’t have to be a full time job or fairly compensated to be more than a hobby.
