Many years ago I watched S9 to figure out why it sucked so bad. It was the absolute lack of character growth. The end of S8 all kind of wrapped everything up nicely, JD and Elliott finally got their shit together, JD finally grew the fuck up, Dr Cox finally chilled out… It was a beautiful wrap.

Then S9 threw it all in the trash, Cox was back to being an asshole and JD was all nerdy and insecure again.

A reboot can absolutely work provided its more of a continuation than a reboot. If they show me JD like he was 20 years ago like nothing happened in that entire time and trot out old jokes it will suck.

I don’t get the hate. The old characters were barely in it, but I loved the new ones. I’ll have to rewatch, though, it’s been a while.

It had promise, they just didnt do anything interesting and like I said, JD and Cox regressed.

It wasnt bad, it just wasnt good.

Man, scrubs is line of the few sitcom type shows I enjoy. Well, except for the one season where they slapped the scrubs name on a different show, which was horrible.

And now they’ll do it again.

Wtf. Can we not just create something new and interesting? Oh, right, we aren’t allowed.

As in bring Cox back, have Braff play a persnickety condescending middle-aged JD that has become like his mentor because the medical profession has done that to him, or have Braff play Cox?

I like the middle one, we can still have Cox present but maybe he’s on the board and semi-retired now. I think the character arc of JD becoming bitter like his mentor over the years could yield some good stuff.

Judging by how these things usually go, cox would become Kelso and everything he hated about him, braff wpuld become cox and everything he hated about him, and timothee chalamet or some shit would be the new JD but all angsty and not funny.

It would be like in a real hospital: the brain dead patient would be kept alive with machines, because they could.

I think they should leave it like that. There were 8 good seasons and everything the charakters had ended up nicely. A reboot probably would be similar to the reboot of Futurama - the first new episode was awful, because they tried to be funny and put in too many references to older episodes.

Listen, I was a season 9 hater at first, too. I watched an episode or two after getting them all on DVD for Christmas one year. I must have gone five plus years before finally giving it a shot again, and I loved it. Highly recommend for anyone out there that felt too sour at first try again sometime. It’s been forever since I watched but I still vividly remember kiwi monkey balls

IMO, if Bill Lawrence wants to make something, let him do it. The man has a knack for creating top tier sitcoms.

Scrubs suffered from being treated like shit by NBC, and obviously “the season that didn’t happen”. With that said, he somehow managed to get a show running despite several stories of Zach Braff being an awful cunt, and losing several actors during the final season due to unhappiness with pay.

I don’t think it should be a reboot. If it is, it should be separate from Sacred Heart and not have cameos.

If we’re desperate for a reboot, why not Spin City?
