Welcome to today’s daily kōrero!
Anyone can make the thread, first in first served. If you are here on a day and there’s no daily thread, feel free to create it!
Anyway, it’s just a chance to talk about your day, what you have planned, what you have done, etc.
So how’s it going?
Nice and sunny in Auckland today, actually got some washing out to dry, son is getting picked up soon which might mean a bit of peace and solitude depending on the wife lol
We had a stormy night last night - there’s something so cosy about lying in a warm bed listening to the weather rage outside. Bloody cold this morning but the sun keeps popping out and disappearing again. Hopefully everyone else is managing to keep warm and dry this morning!
It was cold this morning, but currently beautifully sunny here right now!
Sitting at home, figuring out how to not get cabin fever while being boxed in by bad weather.
Kids are behind me happily playing with some Lego together. Well, mostly happily – there’s been a couple of dramas around who gets to play with certain favourite Lego pieces.
If the weather improves, we may venture into the city.
Personally I’m lying in bed in the early stages of what I expect to be the flu (expected because my wife tested positive for the flu earlier in the week). So I probably have an unproductive weekend ahead.
So far I’ve been watching the Dirk Gently series on Netflix.
That sucks, hope you feel better soon.
I enjoyed the first season of Dirk Gently when it came out, but I don’t think I watched the second.
I’m only a few episodes deep. I’m not a huge TV watcher but this one has managed to get my interest, I’ve enjoyed it so far.
You would think the English World Cup commentators could have had some basic training on Māori pronunciation. No, “Aotearoa” is not pronounced “Outer-rower” 🤦
Let’s be honest, it’s hard enough to get people who have lived in NZ their whole lives to say Māori words properly.
