My ex-wife fed a bunch of raccoons catfood on our back porch. When I found out I was kind of pissed since there was at least 3 or 4 of them coming to the house regularly. My trash cans do get toppled over from time to time but it was happening more often than I liked and guess who has to pick up the garbage each time?

Anyways, so I tell her to stop feeding them and the first night they don’t get fed they dug up all my potted plants on my back porch.

So did you give in and start feeding them? Or did it evolve into a war, which you lost by moving somewhere else?

I just let it go for a few weeks until they eventually gave up. I also got new cans that I could fasten down and they couldn’t get into. Attrition is an often overlooked factor in war.

Some nights they say you can still hear their scratching and skittering. All jokes aside they are cute, I totally get the temptation. I personally think they are adorable but they are absolutely obnoxious.
