What a ridiculous world we’re living in that someone who does a full on nazi salute in front of millions of people is facing no consequences for his actions, but someone who criticized him has lost her job.

Probably some clause in her contract over political messaging. Not uncommon for journalists.

Oh, absolutely agreed, but at the same time I bet there’s some clause in her contract they’re pulling as an excuse. Either no politics or no social media or some combination.

    Not an arm gesture

Anyone who keeps saying it and everyone who keeps accepting it is allowing creeping nazism and right wing ideology

So the game begins … now everyone will start doing it and laughing at it as a joke … another step towards normalizing it.

You fight and challenge it at every step and development because you can fight now in the early stages.

Once it goes too far, no one will be able to fight it.

Maybe it has to go to far so people start fighting it.

Most people still have to much to lose.

Germany had similar conversations in the 1930s

And if you think this is exaggeration, it all started with small steps with leaders and opponents standing by saying that no one would go that far. Until of course it was all too late.

You know, I remember a time where things like freedom of speech, expression, and the press were a thing. Where you could criticize a government official (or in this case, someone pretending to be one) and not have to do things like lose your job, cough up millions of dollars, or have to apologize for stating facts.

And for those wondering why everybody’s suddenly referring to it as an “arm gesture” instead of a “Nazi Salute” is because they don’t want to have to get fired, sued, and forced to apologize anyway for saying it. Trump has left a permanent chilling effect on freedom of the press that will linger long, long past his presidency.

Absolutely shameful. I hope the management at this station and CBS in general get a ton of flak for this. Cowards shouldn’t be in charge of journalists.

Does the “WDJT” station ID mean they named it after trump’s initials? Could be a total trumptard station.

Side note: fuck Allen Media group who are firing a shitload of good meteorologists - they are killing local weather departments to centralize it all with Weather Channel (Allen Media group) coverage.
