Summary
Thousands protested across the U.S. against Trump’s policies, Project 2025, and Elon Musk’s role in the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Demonstrators rallied against Trump’s immigration actions, rollback of transgender rights, and proposed forced transfers of Palestinians. Many expressed concerns over Musk’s access to Treasury data, fearing privacy risks.
Protests occurred in multiple state capitals, with arrests in Iowa and strong opposition in Alabama over LGBTQ+ policies.
Organized under #buildtheresistance, the movement signals growing resistance to Trump’s administration and its sweeping policy changes.
Why the fuck does it always say stuff like “Trumps policies” or “his actions as president”. What theyre doing is mostly illegal, it has nothing to do with being president. People are protesting against a fascist takeover, which has already happened.
If I stage a fascist takeover would the headline be “people all over the US protesting tomi000’s actions as a US citizen”?
I think you forgot the part where the Supreme Court declared that basically anything the president does is legal. Citizens United drove a stake through the heart of American democracy, and this latest ruling cut its head off.
Oh I didnt even know that. Sounds crazy, shouldnt the president be bound to the law most of all people?
Yup, that’s (one of) the (many) roots of the problem. The Supreme Court if a subsidiary of the Republican Party, and they’ve officially declared Trump above the law. Other subsidiaries own the Senate and House, so there’s nothing holding Trump back from doing everything Musk and his other handlers have always dreamed of.
They couched it in language that it must be an “official act”. What differentiates Trump’s actions into official and unofficial you may be tempted to ask? Not one of those corrupt fuckers could tell you.
have you considered how offensive it is to some of us for you to frame this conversation in terms that aren’t profitable or even palatable for corporate news media?
