Historically, people who want to tax the rich are also the same people who respect human rights and oppose capital punishment.
Those people have at times been pushed to a breaking point where anarchy broke out, but the vast majority of such cases led immediately and directly into autocracy.

Unfortunately they also want to stop helping Ukraine defend against russia. So they’re a no-go.

Thing is there are like 3 or 6 major parties in Germany to pick from, so obviously people aren’t as pressured to pick between two important issues.
Hmm surely isn’t this one of the things that coalition talks would water down?
i hope so. otherwise all the other things could be watered down for this to stay and that would be horrible.
You do one of those to maintain you society civilized, and the other to make your society civilized.
A real wealth tax could be devastatingly effective at reducing wealth disparity. It just takes some patience to let the exponential compounding effect kick in. Way, way less blood and lower potential for counter revolution.
