IIRC Sriracha had an exclusive provider for their peppers as they provided a unique taste to it. The company then decided to demand lower prices from the farmers causing them to have a falling out. The sauce was unavailable for a long while and when it was brought back it no longer tasted the same, at least IMO. I still eat it occasionally but not as much as before.

Is THAT why the flavor is so different now??? I never knew! I used to love Sriracha but now it tastes synthetic and unpleasant.

Iirc the guy that farmed the original sirracha peppers makes his own hot sauce now with them after the falling oot- tastes exactly like the old sirracha, just under a different name.

Yeah I’m imagining this falling out ends up with us offering another country good rates on purchasing our stuff.
