Summary

Donald Trump’s national security adviser Mike Waltz and his team created over 20 Signal group chats to coordinate policy on regions like Ukraine, Gaza, and China, Politico reports.

Sources reported seeing “sensitive information” discussed in these chats.

The revelation follows a leaked chat where Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shared operational strike details in Yemen, which experts say would normally be classified.

Critics warn using Signal risks violating record-keeping laws. Despite scrutiny, the White House defended the practice, and Trump continues to support Waltz after a closed internal investigation.

Yeah I was really lost as to how a VP candidate and his team using an encrypted messaging app was a problem when they shouldn’t have access to any information that requires clearance.

Then I remembered that his first name was Tim and the aha moment hit.
