Nothing is a monolith. Black and white thinking is easy because you can just write off anyone you disagree with. You never have to attempt to grasp that other person’s reality, and everyone has reasons for what they believe and how they act. You shutting them out doesn’t make them go away, but it can push them away from the view you espouse. It’s the same mindset MAGA uses to radicalize their base against immigrants, minorities, and “leftists.” The only difference is they tend to accept anyone in a red hat. Sure they have billionaires to organize and finance it all, but still - they focus more on the end result than who supports the movement. Coalitions are needed to take back power and that means looking at the big picture, not picking at every little difference. Your attitude of attacking anyone you don’t 100% agree with will always leave your ideas in the political minority. It lacks empathy and it’s toxic. It kills movements.
