    Not just psychologically addictive… They are one of the few drugs with potentially lethal withdrawal effects. The physical withdrawals are fucked too

      This is why you do not ever abuse it and only use it in emergencies for actual debilitating anxiety, not every day. Playing with depressing the neurotransmitter GABA consistently is always risky. But there’s a reason why benzos are used to treat alcohol withdrawal (alcohol being another GABA depressant).

      Edit: again stressing, I’m not a doctor. But am AuDHD with GAD so have some first hand experience here.

          Have to mate, I edited my comment above to explain why I know this. I always have to carry them on me in case of panic attacks and have done for coming on 2 decades.

          Doesn’t change my suggestion that they should speak to their GP about it as an option though as it really does solve the problem if they’re having a bad day.
