Episodes of The Bear, Stranger Things and Lena Dunham’s new show Too Much are stretching the limits of television and reducing our enjoyment in the process
I like to joke that it takes me 3 hours to watch “60 Minutes” because I just keep pausing/rewinding because I’ve zoned out and have to go back and catch up.
I have a cognitive impairment so maybe that’s why but I can only watch shows with 10-30min length episodes. Longer is too much for my brain.

Watch them in parts.
Doesn’t really work. It’s a lot of cognitive strain to resituate yourselt within it that my body doesn’t have.
(I’m kinda suprised you thought I never would have considered that though 😂, like it’s the most basic thing to try).
I have a script for MPV player that automatically paused the movie at the end of each chapter. I watch movies like TV shows as a result.
You’d need to have local copies of what you’re watching, and they need to have chapter marks embedded. If you’re interested I can share it.
I didn’t assume you never tried, I just provided an alternative solution without deeper thought. It was a bit short, but well intended.
