The whole point of paying a restaurant is that each person can get whatever meal they want simultaneously, like how the point of cable or streaming services is to have various kinds of content. If the restaurant decides they’re only going to serve one meal no matter what people order, well, most people aren’t going to pay for that. The mom can do whatever she wants because she isn’t getting paid to make all these meals, and her “customers” are children who aren’t allowed to eat anywhere else.
