Sorry about the censoring, it was like that when I found it
E: thank you for the proper version u/misterdoctor@lemmy.world
Had a pair of red lens aviators back in the day and my god did they make my brain happy, 0% blue light, everyone looks at you like you’re some kinda weirdo (and the weirdos know you’re one of them). Only downside is everything goes green when you take them off.
Now with 100% more fucking
Ahh that’s so much better, thank you
The irony here is that, to me at least, someone that is comfortable being themself is generally much more attractive than someone trying to look good for the sake of looking good.
Yep, that’s what I was thinking. You pull it off because you like them and it’s authentic to your personality.
I had to get glasses for the first time last year, and I got a normal looking pair and a pair with rainbow frames, and the rainbow ones are the ones I’ve ended up wearing the most. They don’t make me look good per se but I love them and I get tons of “I love your glasses!” every day which increases the total happiness in the world.
I feel the same about hawian shirts but none feel right
Same with me and hats: I WANT to wear them for ME, but can’t get past the collective mental image of men who do almost invariably being douchecanoes.
That and it’s difficult to find any that fit my enormous head 🤷
Same with fedoras. Always loved that hat, but increasingly was communicating something other than what I wanted.
I’m not worried about other ruing them so much as I pretty much only wear solid colour shirts and that feels like too big of a change for me, plus I have yet to find one with a collection of things on it that really appeals to me
feeling happy looks really good
i needed that, thx :)
