So the one-stop pays off on a track where you struggle to overtake? Who could have guessed?
It is not that simple. Usually tyre deg is so high that a single stop race is not possible. The temps were unusually low today and that meant deg was less and a one stop turned out to be the better strategy.
In the current era cars and tires it just often works out to be the case.
Not really. In all of 2022, 2023 and 2024 the two stop was way faster than the one stop.
I have to go back and look at the statistics but we’ve had a lot of one-stoppers the last two to three years. The two-stopper is almost always faster on paper but not always the best strategy, especially with all the dirty air.
I want to say it was 2023 that the one-stop trend started?
I am talking about hungary specifically. One stop is more popular in most tracks but hungaroring always has been two stops.
