Now if they can just straighten out the timeline and ages. Bobby is only 21 yet Hank and Peggy aged like 15 years and it’s only been 7ish since previous series. But H&P have been gone like 10 years to the Middle East? Dafuq? Now if Bobby was in his 30s it would make more sense.
Season 13 aired in 2009, so it’s been 16 years IRL, but I don’t think that matters for the time jump.
Bobby was what, 12, 13 when the first run finished? Also, did they say how long they were in Saudi Arabia? If Bobby’s 21, and they were there 10 years, they’d have had to have left when he was 11 which doesn’t check out.
But I did wonder about the aging. Boomhaur looks like shit but he also tans a lot, so that makes sense. Dale looks almost exactly the same, but he’s kind of a basement-dweller/opposite of Boomhaur, so I guess that makes sense.
There’s no way Bill dropped his shut-in weight that fast, but I’ll let it slide. He should definitely be graying though.
Peggy, Kahn, Minh, and Nancy, and the Wassanasongs all look about right, IMO.
Hank, though, doesn’t look like he aged a day.
People can age radically differently from one another. I smoked for 20+ years, still look better than most of my graduating class, no more wrinkles than anyone else, and mostly fewer. My wife’s Asian, no wrinkles, perfectly smooth everywhere, maybe a dozen gray hairs. I was carded for tobacco and alcohol well into my 40s. At 55, we both have all factory original teeth and hair.
Then there were the guys losing their hair and getting fat in their 30s. Don’t go on FB anymore, but I was shocked at so many of us turned out in our 40s. 🤷🏻
They seem to have just given up and decided Arlen is in DFW after all, so all that mystery box energy had to go somewhere!
We’re about halfway though, and it’s not terrible or anything, but I swear every episode has felt like they get to the point where they have about three minutes left so they panic and sprint to the “Hank learns to chill a little” conclusion, even though they were only about sixty percent through the plot.
Also Dale’s voice is way too off when Huss voices him. Probably should have just given him a tracheotomy voice box or something instead of trying to match. It’s just a constant reminder of Johnny Hardwick’s passing on a show that’s seen more than its share of that sort of thing.
it was pretty good, although I thought it suffered a lot from all the kids being grown up. There’s a lot less comic relief and shenanigans. The episode with GH was one of the best because of that.
I really enjoyed it. Stories were top notch and had lots of wholesome feels. The only thing that threw me off was Dale’s voice. I could not get over it.
I just finished the new season and you can tell when it’s Johnny Hardwick doing the voice. He’s towards the end of the new season.
Oh so he did the last few episodes? I did notice the voice was improving though I thought that was just the new voice actor :<
I guess I was wrong! They switched voice actors in the first two episodes and then from episode 3-8 2!@ Johnny.
