This isnt particularly accurate to the crown.

Given that one of the primary reasons the US colonies rebelled was to take native land.

The crown made a law explicitly banning it.

A mere decade before a massive war was waged by the crown to take a massive amount of native land. The only thing the crown wanted to do was recover its finances before expanding further.

This is pretty typical American revisionism. Everything bad that happened durung colonial times was done by “the crown” or “colonists” or even “the english” but when its something they want to take credit for then those same peope were Americans.

Americans absolutely wanted to expand at the expense of the Native Americans. But pretending that the interest was not shared by the crown is fucking asinine.

The very fucking meme is about the newly independent nations’ designs on natives, ffs.

Yes and in that meme its not “americans” its “former colonials”

Like i assume youre not purposely plotting out how youre going to word this to excuse Americans, its just an unconscious thing, its a bias just like evryone has.

Yes and in that meme its not “americans” its “former colonials”

… because this was a scenario repeated over multiple colonies which became independent nations?

There’s a very chilling “P.O.W.” graveyard located on the army base Fort Sill. It’s the burial grounds of Geronimo and a lot of other natives. One set of graves that turned my stomach in this prisoners of war grave site, was a mother and her 5 children. They all died as P.O.W.'s on the same day.

That kind of recent history is really hard to look at and see anything other than evil.
