Huge weekend for me. Normally I wouldn’t even be awake until mid afternoon on a Saturday, but I got up early to volunteer at the Kedron Parkrun (sorry I didn’t say hi, @Ada@lemmy.blahaj.zone, the work ended up being a lot more involved than I expected it to be!) and then went down to a monthly mini fencing tournament for the first time this year. Heading out to lunch with family friends soon, and then having dinner with my parents.
Then tomorrow, another mini fencing tournament (this one not a regularly-scheduled one though), and getting back into playing RPGs with my old D&D group online.
Plus, after a brief few days off, the Dracula bookclub in !vampires@lemmy.zip starts a 15 day streak of uninterrupted days with at least some book to read.
Very sneaky! Say hi next time :)
Here on Russell Island we have had notification from the Rural Fire Service ( bless those volunteers ) that there’s a strong wind warning and high Fire danger. Due to this my bonfire will not happen. However I’m not cancelling and will just have a party.
It’s a bit of a mood killer. But hopefully it will still be a fun evening. Cheers.
Crank the beats and have an extra beer in honour of the bonfires lost!
Enjoy the party! Wind has definitely been absolutely crazy today even inland. Can’t imagine what it’s like out on the bay.
How did the party go?
The party was a pooper…
There were only a handful of us but we still had good food and good company. We went to a dear friend and neighbours house. It was ridiculously windy.
Good food and good company at a dear friend’s house sounds like a great time 😊
Absolutely.
It’s fair blowy today, I definitely wouldn’t recommend a fire.
Actually surprised we didn’t lose any tree branches, they were halfway bent to the ground
Yeah a friend sent me a message from the local Fire warden that had been posted. High Fire danger so no fire.
