Is the cold medicine messing with my ability to parse words? I’m struggling to parse that guy’s rant.

The rant is pretty unhinged and difficult to follow.

The man is using his personal experience to say that men like sex more than women - or at least he does. He describes a scenario where the man stops contributing to the relationship for six months, which would understandably make any partner upset.

Then he says that if the woman were to confront him about not contributing to the relationship, he might act all flirtatious and offer sexual favours. He posits that the woman would never think that would make up for him being a useless slug for six months. However, he admits that if the roles were reversed he would consider the offer.

Ah, thank you! I keep wondering where I’m getting lost, because from context I figured he was saying something like that and kept trying to edit it in my mind to make sense.

The problem I was having, now that I am less hopped up on cold meds, is that I was reading the italicized bit happening inside the theoretical scenario. So I was reading him as saying “if I was a pathetic sack of shit for months and you told me off and then I came on to you, I’d still be into you.” Which, like, yeah. You just came on to her. But when he says “my reaction” he’s referring to a role reversal where she’s a sack of shit instead. I knew that had to be the joke!

But since I couldn’t get it to read correctly in my head, I kept wondering if I was missing a different joke.
