I guess I’m built different. Never blocked anyone. Even in disagreements and bad takes I try to understand what is going on in people’s minds. I also believe that having wide range of perspectives trains my compassion. Although, I’d still rather read leftist infighting on Lemmy than any political garbage fire on other platforms… until morbid curiosity takes me elsewhere again.

That was insightful, thanks. Ten years ago I dismissed thoughts of being trans because of “the lack of dysphoria” (as in feeling pain about the body image) and never thought about that much further. My issue was/is mostly just certain social expectations or assumptions that are associated with my perceived gender appearance, but maybe that’s a story for another time.

Some people think discrimination and inclusion are zero-sum games when they tend to be in fact transitive.

People-oriented networking feels like staring in the void when one is asocial enough. In topic-oriented networking one does not need to contribute that much. Maybe that’s why Lemmy seems better than Mastodon for me.
