And then the bridge should fall on him.
One might argue this is very Swiss (decentralized) of them. But then, money clouds everything.
Thank you for speaking out, OP.
I don’t hate people from X place because they are from X place. I hate people who refuse to change their destructive ways in the face of overwhelming evidence that doing A,B,C is harmful to oneself or to others. Most often, that seems to align with conservatives. I’m also grouping some centrists in there as well, because they tend to both-sides a lot of issues when that isn’t helping. “Well, maybe not all pollution is bad”. No, you hypothetical fuckwit, ALL pollution is bad.
I’m glad you are speaking out for the sensible people who live in Alberta.
Signed, a progressive from Ontario.
I feel for you. Although I never got an actual diagnosis, I am fairly sure I have traditional SAD. It doesn’t make a lot of sense, because I handle cooler temps better than warm ones, but I guess it’s a sunlight exposure thing.

Like the entire UCP? I’m down
Dodgers took game 7 in extras.
Still, an AL championship (and beating the Yankees) are accomplishments to be proud of.

Good for you. The problem is that not all landowners have the same commitment.
At least Hitler cared about the environment, right? Even if he thought it should only be preserved for Aryans to enjoy.

The First Nations never had our concept of owning land. The land owns us. So we should respect it - or it will all end up looking like a strip mine eventually.

YES YES YES. Use LVT to replace one of the awful taxes Canadians gripe about (maybe GST, maybe income tax?)

Crossposting to r/fuckcars…lol
Haha, that (poker night with the boys type thing) is probably an exception. I was mostly talking about casinos.
The ‘house’ in gambling terms is the establishment in which you are gambling. It’s usually not an actual house.
I don’t think it is functionally any different; just applied to a different asset being sold. Most capital gains are from property sales, aren’t they?

Good news. I hope Canada gets there, but I doubt we will. We are too focused on oil expansion and infrastructure to pay any mind to the ‘dirty poors’ right now.
If we had kept Petro Canada as a crown corporation past the 1980s, we could be funding UBI NOW, but of course, conservatives fucked that up.
I’m in favour of maximum ratios of total compensation. Stock values, dividends, salary are all added together to get a total compensation value.
Start it at something like 50-1, then gradually lower it as the actual workforce is allowed to control an increased share of the company.
There is still incentive for growth; the growth is simply distributed more equitably.
Consider running?
