  • Not really, personally I and a lot of Europeans hold the belief that in order for anything to be done you actually need to be doing those things.

Not just Europeans on this team. Watching from Canada and being told nothing can be done but a street march on a sunny Saturday while our own governing schmucks start instituting laws to appease and move our country toward fascism on the lead of the fuckers south of us, is god damn terrifying.

I won’t be silent about it either. About 'murica or Canada. 'muricuns are letting a fascist dictator control them and affect lots of others around the world. Canadians are allowing our PM to do the same just much slower and with more smiles and handshakes.

  • We’re doing that regularly now.

There are always algues and fish unless we go out of our way and poison the ocean.

You mean like the Pacific garbage patch? Or the numerous “spills” and effluent pipes that feed directly into the ocean? Perhaps the excessive overfishing or whaling or shark finning? Ocean drilling? Deep water mining? I think we’ve already got that killing the oceans thing managed.

There is of course always a chance something will survive.

Edit: like this fucking horse tail I’m fighting in my garden that’s been around for millennia. Dinosaurs walked on that shit. Makes a great addition to fertilizer but God damn already…

  • I am very glad these people are telling stories of their experiences. As someone with severe PTSD from a chaotic job trying to help people I can tell you this will stay with this guy the rest of his life. I see this not just from the starving Palestinian side but also from the side that this guy’s life, without proper acknowledgement and treatment is just as over as that poor Palestinian he watched starve and die.

I am hopeful he gets the help he needs but in this current western culture of hatred and cynicism I imagine he will disappear into a terrible obscurity of fucked up memories because Palestinians obviously deserve this and so does he for trying to help.

Neither person in this story should be experiencing this and all of us are complicit in allowing it to happen until we force our governments to do otherwise.
