We have had conscription in Denmark since the 1800s, so it is far from new. The news being reported here, is that they have extended it to women, and made it a longer commitment (11 months I think, used to be 4-8 months).

Totally agree with you that we all have problems. In Denmark, we voted to leave the EU long before Brexit; our government then narrowly pulled it back with a number of exceptions and a new referendum. Also, we had a rise in right wing politics and anti immigration sentiment very early on relative to other European countries.
I also agree with you that first-past-the-post is a huge issue that the UK should tackle, and it’s not talked about enough! Our electoral system in Denmark is also flawed, but I do think the representation system we have feels more democratic.
Cameron Diaz / camera in di azz? Maybe?
It is indeed OK to like pretty things. But the bows are sort of a visible lump on the front, if I’m wearing leggings/ soft trousers/ dress.
I mean, I agree the comment is mostly ragebait or not serious. However, I wanted to mention that you may be underestimating how large a proportion of women’s knickers have this bow. I usually cut them off, as they are just annoying, but honestly in my experience, the vast majority of knickers have this.

Agreed. It was far easier than I expected.

I love a good, fresh baked Danish rye bread. Butter and a sharp cheese is all it really needs to make it perfect. Also a freshly baked roomali, wrapped around spicy chicken kebab with mint raita. Ooh, and a roti canai with that amazing Malay curry sauce they serve them with. Oh - and its close cousin the paratha, in almost any form. Maybe especially an aloo paratha.

To my mind, it is one we could build together, through collaboration and solidarity perhaps

Yeah, I just remembered being surprised by the (small) size of Russia’s GDP when I looked it up a while back.
Re the Euro, yep, we do have an exception, although I don’t think we’re the only EU country without the Euro (Sweden off the top of my head, maybe Poland too?). I am not really on top of all the macroeconomic implications - I would guess that the Danish krone is probably tied to the Euro at some level, and much of our financial policy is probably tied to EU policy. Could be there are some financial policy options that Denmark has more control over, when opting out of the Euro, but nothing that I am particularly aware of.
I think at a personal level, I would be fine with taking the Euro in Denmark. Easier for travel and online shopping without exchange costs. But that is an uninformed personal view :) I do not have a current detailed understanding of any other implications this would come with for the country - I am just not personally precious about our currency as some kind of national identity symbol.
I think you are right that the Euro would be a core part of any potential UK re-entry negotiations with the EU though.

Russia would not be the largest European economy, even if you counted them. They are about the size of Italy in terms of GDP I believe (not intending this as a correction, just sharing an interesting fact).
Totally agree with your main point, that the UK would be better off pursuing closer ties with Europe and the EU over US.
I love these dudes! They are definitely up there with some of the weirdest critters I’ve come across scuba diving - they look like a chicken wing with lipstick on, scurrying along the sand.

I second this. I do not have ADHD, but my partner of 23 years does, and I can see the struggle he sometimes faces.
I will not say living with him is easy. Sometimes it is very challenging. But he brings so much joy, inspiration and adventure to my life, I would not be without it.
I do not always carry my wallet, but i have a credit card in a compartment in the back of my phone case. Works just as well as google pay for me.
I have a “kodeviser” device, works for all MitID purposes.

If you mean you can’t get the lion guy out of the campsite, then I think it may be because you have to invite the first campsite visitor to live on your island. He might stay there till you do.

I don’t speak any Irish, but I am obsessed with Kneecap at the moment. Some of their lyrics include English of course, some tracks are fully in Irish. Either way, they are great!
I also switched to Kvaesisto from Nova. Its quite different, and I had to get used to it, but I really love it now. I don’t think I’ll ever want to switch.
Motherfucker, I’m resourceful, resilient. I power through the waves of disappointment. Maybe not quite thriving but I’m buoyant. I am at peace these days (give or take a fit of blinding rage).
