  • I’ve had some pretty heated discussions with my grandfather when I first became a communist. Eventually I just realized to him politics are a game. Sadly to a lot of people in the first world this is the case. Privilege clouds people’s judgement. When they are too privileged, no amount of evidence will change their minds. After all, their privilege can only be maintained by the continuation of reactionary backwards policies.

Something that has made me much less frustrated about people becoming absolutely deranged about Russia, is the fact that Europe no longer has any cards to play on the world stage. From now on, this continent is headed for irrelevance, stagnation and decay. So Europeans can believe in the dumbest things possible, because they won’t stop the progressive movements happening in the rest of the world. No matter how angry, racist and blood thirsty they get, they can’t collapse Russia, they can’t stop the rise of China, it seems they can’t even stop Africa from regaining it’s freedom.

  • I once read an article comparing the number of active users on my space with those of pandemics. So basically social media is like a disease that has now reached global saturation and will only go down from here. Good riddance. It only served to enrich scammers influencers, control public opinion and invade the privacy of everyone. However, if chatrooms become the new way people share information, than this presents new challenges to the left. As spreading misinformation will be even easier, but at the same time, censoring leftist opinions will be much harder.

  • Everything was going well until the US put the CIA to work. They organized a front against the communists. Mário Soares, who was the face of this movement, was very popular. He was the leader of the Socialist party, a fake leftist party that claimed to want Socialist reforms, but with moderation. There were still sectors of the military which were fascist. The Communist party had several buildings bombed during the counter movement. During this time, a massive anti-communist propaganda campaign was launched against the Party, even accusing the leader of “eating children for breakfast”.

The communists simply didn’t have the numbers, military equipment or training to fight a civil war. And quite frankly by then, they had already lost a good amount of popular support. So this Social Democratic system was what we got as a result of the balance of powers. The workers right have been eroded over time and Portugal is just a STEM factory for the Nordic countries.

Let’s get one thing clear because I see this confusion appearing over and over again. The PCTP was not communist, nor Maoist, not even leftist. It was just a fake communist party created to bash the real communists. That’s all they’ve ever done. The UDP were just a bunch of ultras that never accomplished anything, but they still exist for some reason.
