I’m glad I have slowly moved away from Reddit, hope we get some sort of Fedi recap stuff in the future as is a really cool idea but glad we don’t get forced to use Apps and stuff.

Technology@lemmy.world•Threads is officially starting to test ActivityPub integration
3·2 years agoLess of a public figure than Zuck I was meant to say. I really do hope they have a goodish intent and I’m sure the Fediverse will keep on going with or without META, just really hope to see more of a general audience join us on the Fediverse

Technology@lemmy.world•Threads is officially starting to test ActivityPub integration
1·2 years ago@Zak@lemmy.world It would make sense for him to be but I guess it might be easier to use accounts that are not so much public knowledge like @mosseri@threads.net rather than the head of META themselves. Really hope if it goes well they will possibly even think about doing the same with there other platforms.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Steam Linux Marketshare Surges To Nearly 2% In November
641·2 years agoI’m guessing this is because of more sales of the Steam Deck, haven’t got myself one yet but I’d love to as everyone that has gotten ones has said it’s worth the money as well as is a great way to get through your games on the go.

Gaming@lemmy.ml•Valve says "technology doesn't exist" yet for full Steam Deck 2.0
122·2 years agoFrom what I’ve seen of the Steam Deck there’s not far that it can go to improve as of the moment but in the next 10 years there’s going to be needing another one as newer games like GTA 6 and stuff come around and eventually be on PC the tech is going to really show it’s age.

Memes@lemmy.ml•This is literally the internet nowadays without an adblock
1022·2 years ago@gohixo9650 I turned off my ad blocker by accident the other day and freaked out as the internet was unbearable.
@nodimetotie Pretty much any topic that I enjoy, I try and add a new post when I subscribe to it and see if people are just waiting for new posts.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why don’t application developers who have abandoned their development make the code they don’t need open source?
12·2 years ago@Slow It’s most likely due to they rather delete there files before they think “Oh, I can just release this on GitHub or something Publicly for people to use my code” or due to being apart of a company that is very protective of its property or it’s due to feeling they may come back to the project in the future and improve it.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•The Verge Takes on Self-Hosting for the Masses
121·2 years ago@spaduf That’s really nice, I actually use Obsidian myself for note taking and I can say that I will never go back to normal note taking software. The internet and software needs to change to be for the user, for if the software doesn’t exist in the future. We never know if a service will go but we shouldn’t loose everything.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Have you ever had an illness that most people don't understand?
4·2 years ago@Breezy Yes sadly most doctors haven’t heard of it and if they have some don’t think it’s actually a thing. I’m very lucky in having my mum that also has the same condition so it’s nice to know i’m not the only one going through things.
Also no one knows if it is genetic there has been very little research about it let alone in that area. Glad you came to comment hope your mother has learnt to deal with the pains, fog and tiredness.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Have you ever had an illness that most people don't understand?
4·2 years ago@shinigamiookamiryuu I wouldn’t say you couldn’t but is a strange set of symptoms with things such as our pains as it can be effected by stress, mood, weather or even temperature. A dog could be trained to detect it as well as even help with service dogs but that’s a lot of money and research. As well as Fibro is very misunderstood as we aren’t even sure how it comes about, Trauma maybe, Born with it, possibly.

I would guess it would be instance to instance basis and will most likely have to be 100% transparent with what it’s doing.
