Interestingly enough what you just described is a democracy, the socalled system that gives people power. Anarchist societies would be by consensus

Not necessarily as a community would have power split equally among all.
Yes this is the basic problem. Those in power will always serve themselves. It doesn’t matter what they did or who they were before they were given power, the moment they get power:, they’ll do whatever they can to keep it

You could start by trying to resolve any conflict that would lead to that in the first place. But if you mean do it just because you feel like it then the community could require you to make reparations or something like that. If that still didn’t work you could be kicked out of the community

Power structures can absolutely be eliminated. By taking away the ability for anyone to carry out the threat of violence, and removing harmful institutions like the state and capitalism

USSR was still a state, so of course it didn’t work. You need to eliminate power structures

So very true. This is why government can not exist

It is CBS news though so not like anyone should actually watch them anyways
Very very true

Yeah often feels like marxists seek the liberation of workers and no one else. Like communism is cool and all but the concept of a dictatorship of a proletariat, when done correctly, gives workers all the power over everyone else. While workers having power is definitely good, it would mean workers could dominate and oppress any other group that doesn’t or can’t work like disabled people. That’s why anarchism is way better

Modern Holocaust happening in the 21st century

Great read. People believing they have the right to eat meat is clearly based on the fact that they believe humans to be supreme and above other nonhumans

A lot of countries opposed Germany in “ww2” because they wanted their country to be the global superpower, not Germany. So it’s not that they had an issue with Germanys ideaology, but instead felt threatened by it’s existence, similar to how the US and USSR felt threatened by each other’s existence. In fact both the US and Soviet union had policies of their own that were pretty similar to the nazis. The US had Japanese internments camps, along with racial segregation. Soviet union had gulags and the great purge

Exploitation. Everything is built around exploitation. Of course capitalism is not the only exploitive system that exists, it’s just the one most visible to us.

Lol this is me basically. I find sports especially areas with heavily sport focused culture off putting and honestly revolting

This is why we should pirate everything and never give a shit

Definitely a good read. Youth liberation is super important. Young people are forced to suffer so much abuse and mistreatment because they aren’t considered “adult” it’s unbelievable

My response to seeing it was written by ziq was pretty similar lol.
I think you’re right when you say that the saying “rules without rulers” is usually used to put down the idea that anarchists just want people running around killing each other.
But it’s worth noting that anarchists don’t really support rules as most people think of them they’re more voluntary agreements created through consensus decision making

Pretty interesting to me how something like this seems to be ignored by the vast majority of society
Well everyone wants something so you should always be able to make something that is best for everyone
